Chase What Stirs Your Spirit

There's a line in Tim McGraw's song "Live Like You Were Dying" that always resonates with me. It's not the skydiving or the bull riding (though I admire the enthusiasm), but rather the line: “like tomorrow was a gift, and you got eternity to think about what you’d do with it, what would you do with it”? That line sticks with me because it’s a simple reminder that time isn’t unlimited. We have moments, not guarantees. So, focus on what matters most.

This photo was taken in Yellowstone. My son and I have visited many times, in every season, including winter when the snow covers the ground and steam rolls off the geysers. He's grown now, with a family of his own, taking special trips like this with them. Watching him carry that forward is one of the great joys of my life, proof that the things we pour our hearts into don't end with us.

Too often we delay what stirs our spirit. We tell ourselves we'll do it later, when things settle down, when we're ready. But readiness is a myth. Life doesn't pause for us to feel prepared.

So what's in your heart? Whatever it is, go do it. Not without fear, just with your whole heart.
