The Small Moments We Notice

As we go through life, we can tend to fall into routines or habits. In doing so, we can look past the world around us. 

This photo was taken at Duff Pond in Middleton, Idaho. There were a few white ducks at the edge of the pond, all looking the same way, focused on something—maybe in the water, maybe across the pond. It's just a small moment, but I caught myself wondering what they were seeing.

​I know how easy it is to get caught up in headlines or daily life, but moments like this make me slow down and actually see what's around me.

​Curiosity doesn’t always mean figuring something out. Sometimes it just gets us to stop and look around. That’s enough.
Like the ducks, maybe we just need to take in what's around us—no need to solve or explain it.
