Could you get by without your car? There are of course many variables to this question such as, where you live, public transportation availability, children living at home, commuting to work and many other factors.
With the price of gas now $4.00 a gallon in my area and even higher in others, people are looking for new ways to get around their towns, cities and communities. The rise and popularity of e-bikes is a great example of this. According to ebicycles.com, between 2020 and 2023, sales of e-bikes is forecasted to reach 130 million worldwide.
While I don't own an electric bike, I have recently made the decision to sell my truck and use my bicycle as my primary form of transportation. In this episode, I share why I made this decision and why I'm so excited about it!
The bike I'll be using for going car-free, is the REI Co-Op CTY 1.1.
It is a great bike for commuting around town and with the rear rack, I can easily attach the Ortlieb panniers I used on my cross country ride to carry groceries and other items.
Jeff and I have known each other for over 20 years. Both as friends as well as employer/employee.
During this time, Jeff has been promoted to President at Strive Workplace Solutions.
We talk about our careers, our families and our Fur-Babies.
Additionally, this podcast was a bit difficult for me, as Jeff and I discuss events in my life that I've never shared publicly. The impact that Jeff, his family and everyone at Office Value / Strive have had on my life has been profound and I'm forever grateful. THANK YOU!
Today, I had the pleasure of chatting with Author, Peter Leavell on a variety of topics. Each of us lost our brothers that impacted us both so profoundly. When we met for breakfast last week to catch up and discuss this podcast. I didn't realize it when we set the date and time, but it was Peter's brother's birthday! Coincidence??? I don't think so!
I hope you enjoy this discussion between two old friends.
In the summer of 2017 Ryan and I met on our bike ride across America! We rode together for several weeks before going our separate ways. Each of us had our own unique experiences and memories. I hope you enjoy hearing from Ryan and I about our journey.
